Teaching Grant Application

Do you promote literacy and use current theory? The $750 annual teaching grant supports innovative literacy projects in classrooms across Connecticut. This project can be done by an individual or a team of teachers.

Please submit your application (including resume, letter of support, and proposal) to CRA by January 15, 2017 to Cathy Mastrianna at – DOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION HERE!

The winners will be notified via email by January 30, 2017.

The applicant must:

  • Be a current CRA member (see for membership information)
  • Submit a resume from each member of the team
  • Submit a letter of support from your building administrator or immediate supervisor

Please submit a proposal that includes the following:

  1. Cover page
    1. Title of Proposal
    2. Names, addresses, and telephone numbers of individual or team members
    3. School name and address
    4. Amount of funding requested (up to $750)
    5. Brief abstract of the project
  2. What is the purpose of the project?
  3. What are the objectives of the project?
  4. Project description
    1. Who will participate?
    2. What will the teacher do?
    3. What will the students do?
  5.  What is the timeline of this project?
  6.  What is the budget for this project?
    1. Please be specific about how the monies will be spent. Monies may not be used for speaker fees, travel to professional development, or release time.
