As you may already know, International Literacy Association is partnering with Newbery Medalist Kwame Alexander on “How to Raise and Teach Anti-Racist Kids” this Thursday, June 18, at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The virtual Town Hall will be offered through Zoom and Facebook Live; a recording of the event will be available through ILA’s YouTube channel the next day.

Special guests include Cornelius Minor, Karyn Parsons, Tiffany M. Jewell, Pam Allyn, and Dr. Noni Thomas López.
Kwame will host, and ILA Vice President Dr. Stephen G. Peters will deliver opening remarks.

As valued members of the ILA community, we hope you can join us Thursday. We also ask that you help support the event by spreading the word throughout your groups and other professional contacts. For more information, you can read the official ILA Press Release.

The live event will have an ASL interpreter, available through the support of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Closed captioning will be available on the archived recording.
